Rosey & Vittori: Black on White.

10653863_845238342173939_9090834526195185801_nIf you’re from Cape Town and if you haven’t heard of Rosey & Vittori. Where have you been? Have you been hiding under a rock or behind Table Mountain for the past year?  Well… come out of your cave as you’re just in time for the launch of Rosey & Vittori’s latest collection: Black on White.

Oh ya… and for all you Joburg Folk, I introduce to you the new men’s label you should be keeping an eye on: Rosey & Vittori or R&V for short.DSC_8023

Rosey & Vittori was established in 2012 with the vision to develop modern street couture designed in South Africa. Inspired by Cape Town lifestyle and diversified by street culture of the world, their mission is guided by local and international street culture – but works to create Everyday street classics accented with a sense of madness. R&V is known for it’s Limited Edition, One-of-a-kind pieces and this Slim Fit Cycle Tee (R239.95) is exactly that. This forms part of a collection of 8 in total – this means only 8 were produced. What? Just 8? Better get ordering!

Sports Luxe is the trend that seems to be lasting the whole year round! Major sports brands like, Adidas, are now collaborating with high-end fashion labels like TOPSHOP. Rosey & Vittori, decided to jump on this bandwagon but added their own South African flavour to their designs. Proudly homegrown street wear couture, this SA Flag Crew Neck (R359.95) and Two Tone Chino Shorts (R499.95) epitomize what R&V stand for.

Drawing upon the sweet science of fashionable sportswear, the designer, Steve Rosenbaum, is no doubt reinforcing a sporty aesthetic to men’s voguish fashion pieces by embracing porous, breathable fabrics when forming sharp, clean lines. This Blue Windbreaker (R1100) and Zebra Print Shorts (R599.95) take the amalgamation of sport luxe and street couture to a whole new level and I love it!

According to designer Steve Rosenbaum;

“the ever-evolving industry of fashion is like a hoop. New trends are borrowed from old, and what is in now, will probably be in style again in another 20 years.”

The Black on White collection is a lot more simple than the last. The previous collection were solely statement pieces, adding a sense of madness to men’s fashion. Here’s a little taster on what R&V’s previous range included:

R&V is an unconventional way of self-expression by blending what was, with what is.  The aim of R&V is to celebrate non-conformity. It is about being comfortable and whilst doing that,  looking good. This means blurring the line between comfort and style in the most impactful way, but still keeping it simple. Much like mixing Camo Chino Shorts (R550) with a Grey Honeycomb Knitted Jersey (R699).

Lets just be honest, R&V is not for the faint hearted. It’s for the fashion forward man willing to push boundaries to look good!

To order anything from RV’s latest collection, Black on White, simply request the specific piece by sending them a message on their Facebook page, or visit Boaston Society in Long Street.
Rosey & Vittori ships to anywhere in South Africa.

You Spec Winners Looking Spectacular

YOU-SPECTACULAR-LOGo-small

I simply cannot for the life of me remember when last I purchased a You Magazine? Oh yes, I remember I didn’t. My mother did. So back in the day I used to flip through it’s pages only stopping at the jokes page and of course, right at the end – The Celebs. What were they wearing? Which event were they at? Who were they seen with? Ahhh… The Scandal!

If that’s one thing I love about the You Mag is that they like to keep the local lekker! So, if you’re looking for some recent gossip on your favourite Mzanzi celeb then the You Magazine is the way to go.  Now, it’s only right that your best SA celeb mag holds an awards evening for the best celebs, and what makes this ceremony even better is that the winners are voted by – You! The You Spectacular Awards 2014 was held at the exquisite Emperor’s Palace earlier in June. Lets get right into the fashion and discuss some of the night’s winners and losers.

???????????????????????????Janez Vermeiren obviously won the sexiest man award. However, for me, this textured skinny tie and simple tailored suit just did not do it. This isn’t deserving of a sexiest man award, is it? This is not the Janez I remember!? Ahhhh yes… That’s much better!996105_10152717413319657_91089709_nJanez should have come to the awards exactly like this. Then he would be most deserving of his award. Just look at those abs… and calves!

Focus LJ – FASHION. Right… Where were we?timthumbOut of all the sexy men at this awards ceremony, my eyes simply could not leave the sight of Jeannie D. She definitely took spectacular to a whole new level in this black almost transparent, long sleeved, floor length gown. Sophisticatedly sexy. This is obviously why she won the award for being the sexiest woman.

???????????????????????????Simba Mhere won  Favourite TV Presenter. So he’s good at presenting, but is he good at styling? I’ll give it to him, this colour compliments his skin tone but I can’t help but wonder whether he was attacked by the baby blue Powerpuff girl just before the show? Hmm?

24GCNENTERTAINMENT_526486754Introducing the new kids on the block: Rubber Duc. Now these boys didn’t win anything but I just had to comment on, not only their fresh music but their sleek style. This look is the epitome of their new single’s lyrics,

“Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

It’s simple but sexy. I love their matching suits enhanced by the velvet detail and just to add some gangsta quality to it – snap back flat caps with their name on it. In case anyone forgot. Keep your eyes on these boys…

So here’s what I wore to the You Spectacular. A coral sequined sweetheart dress designed by the Mercedes Benz Cape Town Fashion Week award winner, Wendy, from The Girls Bridal. And just incase the sequin wasn’t enough glam, I added some sparkle with dangling diamante ear rings.

The trend for hair this season are braids and the old Hollywood curl – so I decided to mix it up and do both. Thank you so much to Walter Wurth, Glenda Magagane and Hannes Greyling from Follicle Hair Salon for making my hair, nails and make-up look absolutely fabulous. I definitely recommend Follicle Hair Salon for those who want to have a complete hair, nail and makeup  makeover by professionals! Pampered in style.
